Suji Apple Halwa – A Warm Monsoon Hug in a Bowl

Suji Apple Halwa – A Warm Monsoon Hug in a Bowl

When monsoon hits, all we want is something warm and comforting for our little ones, right? One such tried and tested recipe from my mommy diary is this Suji Apple Halwa. It’s soft, sweet (naturally!), and super soothing during the rainy season.

👶 Best for: 7 months+
🍎 Key Ingredients: Suji (rava), apple, ghee
Time to prepare: 10 minutes
🌿 Good for: Digestion, energy boost, immunity

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 small apple (peeled & grated) 🍏
  • 1 tbsp suji / rava 🌾
  • ½ tsp ghee 🧈
  • ½ cup water 💧
  • Pinch of cardamom powder (optional) 🌸

🧑‍🍳 How I make it:

  1. Dry roast the suji till light golden and aromatic.
  2. In another pan, cook the grated apple in a few drops of ghee for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add roasted suji to it, pour in the water slowly while stirring to avoid lumps.
  4. Let it cook till it gets soft, add a pinch of cardamom if your baby has tried it before.
  5. Serve lukewarm – it’s like a warm cuddle in a bowl!

💡 Mommy Tip:

No sugar or jaggery needed – the apple gives natural sweetness. Ideal for cold, breezy days when your baby needs something filling and comforting. 😊
